Developed in the Fifties and completed in the Sixties the PT6A turboprop engine offers unmatched performance, reliability and value in the 550 to 1700 shaft horsepower range. Eighty percent of light turboprop aircraft have utilized this power plant and since its development over 50,000 PT6A variants have been delivered. It can be seen working mainstream as a day to day people mover or delivering cargo to remote and harsh environments from the North Pole to the Antarctic. It is commonly referred to as the work horse of all utility engines.
